Book Review: Quarry’s Blood

Quarry’s back! I love this Hard Case Crime book. Max Allan Collins had let this series die until begged by his publisher to restart it, and now with a Netflix adaptation, it’s ‘game on!’ Quarry books, like Donald Westlake’s Parker novels (written under the pseudonym, Richard Stark), feature an antihero: Quarry’s a contract killer with a conscience–sort of. These books always feature a babe, a gun battle, and a bad character that deserves to die! If ‘Chick Lit’ is a genre for women, then I’m calling this genre, ‘Dick Lit!’ Quarry’s Blood is a fun story which has an unexpected twist to the series that brings Quarry into the present day, modern life. I highly recommend it. A fun beach read.
